After all, he was quite willing to insert himself in the middle of the Ground Zero Mosque dispute with a ringing defense of the First Amendment right of those who plan on building the offensive structure and a denunciation of those who reject its location.
Could it be that the only time Barack Obama believes the First Amendment is operative is when he is in support of the message it is being used to communicate, while he is more than willing to see the suppression of expression he dislikes -- or even actively participate in its suppression, as he did in the case of the proposed Quran burning? And if that is the case, isn't he in violation of his oath of office?
Those who know the owner of the billboard told a local NBC News affiliate that he and his wife were receiving death threats. The person who commissioned the piece is not yet known.
I've not written much of anything about the increasing number of signs and billboards attacking Barack Obama and the Democrats. After all, I've made it quite clear that I'm an opponent of the man and his policies, and so am generally in support of the message in question -- and even if I were not,

, I am a supporter of the First Amendment and believe that political speech in opposition to the regime in Washington is fully protected under the US Constitution.
I was, however, planning to write about this sign that appeared recently, which I did find offensive for reasons which should be obvious.
Friends of the owner said he decided to take down the billboard because he was receiving harassing calls.
However, I'm not going to write that condemnatory post now -- and am instead wondering why Barack Obama has not come out in defense of the billboard, which has been removed in the wake of death threats.
Now I want to know Barack Obama's position on this sign and its public display.
Why won't he speak out noting the First Amendment rights of those who own,

, designed, and paid for the sign and the unAmerican nature of the opposition who engaged in harassment and threats against those who were engaged in speech they found offensive?
A local Tea Party group had planned to rally around the sign in Grand Junction on Friday, but when they arrived, it had been taken down.
Well that didn't take long.
"He got a lot of calls out of his place of business that he said he was fine with. When things got out of hand and people started calling his wife, that's when he decided to go ahead and take it down," said Blake Brueggeman, owner of Integrity Auto. Brueggeman leases property from sign's owner.
The controversial Colorado billboard depicting President Obama as a suicide bomber, gangster, Mexican bandit and a gay man has been taken down -- just days after the sign was erected and slammed nation-wide for being racist.
